Guided by Indigenous Knowledge. Driven by Community Priorities.

Two Worlds Society (TWS) is a non-profit society that is committed to the advancement of Indigenous-led research, intergenerational learning, skills development and environmental stewardship.

About Two Worlds Society

We envision a future where Indigenous knowledge systems guide community-driven initiatives and research to enhance shared learning and self-determination.

Our Purpose

  • Support Indigenous-led research and knowledge-sharing
  • Advance environmental stewardship and monitoring

  • Foster intergenerational learning, mentorship, and language revitalization

We serve communities—not projects—and our work is guided by Indigenous priorities, not external deliverables.

Our Values

Reciprocity
We listen before we act. We give before we ask.

Respect
Knowledge is relational and held with care.

Accountability
Our commitments are long-term and transparent.

Reconciliation in Practice
We support tangible, generational change through Indigenous-led initiatives.

Core Program Areas

We provide technical expertise to support the design and delivery of Indigenous community-led research projects.

We support Indigenous Guardian and environmental monitoring initiatives through the facilitation of skill development programs. We also provide training to support to Indigenous communities as they navigate environmental assessment processes.

We facilitate land-based gatherings that connect youth with Elders, ceremony, and culture. We also develop culturally relevant learning materials that support language revitalization and knowledge transmission initiatives.

We host co-learning sessions that bring together Indigenous, academic and industry partners to foster ethical collaboration. We also help facilitate dialogue and agreements between Indigenous communities and institutions.

We provide support and advisory services for Indigenous community-led economic development initiatives.

Strategic Use of Funds

We use the funding we receive to support projects that reflect our values and align with the priorities of Indigenous communities. The funding that TWS receives is used to support Indigenous-led research, community-based learning, environmental stewardship, and economic development initiatives.
