The Two Worlds Research Society is guided by an all-Indigenous Board of Directors. Their leadership reflects our commitment to community priorities, cultural integrity, and ethical practice.

Kyle Hilsendager
Kyle HilsendagerPresident
Kyle Hilsendager is a member of ʼNa̱mǥis First Nation and as also serves as President of the Two Worlds Society Board of Directors. He has extensive experience representing Indigenous interests on projects relating to natural resource management, economic development, and reconciliation. In addition to his work with Indigenous communities, Kyle has spent more than a decade teaching and developing curriculum at the post-secondary level and has years of experience working in Indigenous-focused academic programs. He brings this experience to support Two Worlds Society’s vision of a future where Indigenous knowledge systems guide community-driven initiatives and research in ways that enhance shared learning and self-determination.
Draco Recalma
Draco RecalmaVice-President
Draco Recalma is a two-spirit person from the pentl’ach and xÊ·məθkÊ·É™y̓əm Nations. In his role, Draco brings certifications for OCAP®, TCPS2, expertise in GBA+, and lived experience with First Nations across Vancouver Island in BC. He is also experienced with quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, and leadership in Indigenous issues and engagement-related information management for impact assessments. Draco has extensive experience applying the Two-Eyed Seeing approach to his work involving impact assessments, reconciliation, and data ethics in relation to First Nations in the south Vancouver Island region.
Melanie Demers
Melanie DemersSecretary
Melanie Demers is a Kanyen’kehá:ka member of Six Nations and is Québécois. Her past experiences as an author, facilitator, researcher, and consultant have strengthened her ability to present results and perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis in many contexts. Melanie is passionate about the application of Two-Eyed Seeing in her work with Indigenous nations, and she values community, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
Jennifer Campbell
Jennifer CampbellTreasurer
Jennifer Campbell is a Métis business owner with more than two decades of experience navigating complex regulatory environments, managing multi stakeholder projects, and providing strong, values based leadership. Her nationally recognized work in impact assessment has required rigorous financial oversight, strategic planning, and accountability—skills essential to effectively stewarding budgets, evaluating financial risk, and ensuring transparent reporting within a non profit structure.
